Indivio enables you to upgrade your Facebook Dynamic Ads to use personalized images and videos.
To create a dynamic ads campaign using personalized images or videos, you will first need:
- Facebook dynamic ad id “boilerplate”
-
First, create a dynamic ad on Facebook using the Catalog Sales objective and specifying the desired catalog, product set, ad set, and ad settings. The dynamic video ads campaign will use the same ad format as the boilerplate - either single link or carousel.
-
Catalog-compatible feed
-
You will need the specific product set id or the flights set id to create a feed from a Product Catalog for use in Dynamic Ads campaigns. See the Preparing Feeds article for more information.
-
Dynamic Template
-
See the Designing Dynamic Templates and Create Template docs for more info.
-
Connected Facebook account
-
User’s connected account must have permissions to the Facebook dynamic ad id and related assets (catalog, pixel, page) - see how to Connect Your Facebook Account
To create a dynamic ads campaign (we’ll cover creating videos for Dynamic Product Ads in the example below):
-
From the Campaign Page (new window), click on the “Create Campaign” button.
-
Specify the Facebook ad id in the field to get started. It will take a few moments to query Facebook and, if successful, the system will show information about the ad. Please verify the ad information and select whether you want to upgrade these dynamic ads with personalized images or videos.
-
Select the Facebook Catalog-compatible Feed to use for generating the media variations. These feeds are usually enhanced with additional columns of information to feature in the videos and will have ids that correspond to Facebook catalog item ids. Currently, these feeds require setup by an account manager. Click Next once you have selected the feed.
-
You have the option of making a copy of the existing Facebook dynamic ad id or of using the existing. If you choose to copy, you have the option of setting the copy’s campaign, ad set, and ad names. Everything else (e.g. ad copy fields) will use the original dynamic ad id’s boilerplate. Click Next and wait a few moments while the system validates the configuration against Facebook’s requirements.
-
Select the Template you want to use for the campaign. Currently, the system only supports a single template. Click Next.
-
Map the template design fields to the feed columns. This tells the system which values you want to replace in the template. You can see a preview of the value to the right of the feed column. The system will automatically try to match the template design fields to feed columns with the same name.
-
Review the Campaign settings. Set a name for the Indivio Campaign (you set the Facebook campaign name in the previous steps). You can edit the Campaign refresh schedule which will update videos and sync them to the catalog on Facebook automatically. If you do not want to publish to Facebook, but just render videos, you can specify “preview only”. Click Next to begin rendering your personalized media and publishing your campaign.
-
You can view the real-time progress of your renders and publish tasks by clicking the “View Progress” link or you can check the task history to see when the videos and publish tasks to Facebook are done.
